A lot of work went into this site, and it was done for love not money. I don't mind it not earning money but I do mind people stealing from it, or more specifically, stealing my data transfer allowance (aka bandwidth). In other words, don't link to the images directly, using the URL.
I have to pay for topping up the data transfer allowance at regular intervals, in order to keep this site running, and it goes down a lot faster if other people are pulling images from my server to put on their own sites. I don't see why I should pay to provide content to someone else's site as well as this one.
If you would like to buy higher-resolution versions of the photos, they are usually available, please contact me for further information.
I'm no historian, but I have tried to check with proper historians' books in order to get the facts right. The information presented is, as they say, true to the best of my knowledge. The more recent pages on this site use a tableless layout, and also implement various accessibility features.
